Marine Conservation


The commission tasked with preventing a collapse of the Mediterranean bluefin tuna fishery has opted for catch quotas still far higher than its own scientists recommend and leaving industrial fleets free to scoop up tuna at the height of its spawning period.

This is not a decision, it is a disgrace which leaves WWF little choice but to look elsewhere to save this fishery from itself. Read more
